Those concessions are insufficient. Wages and benefits must be cut significantly. Huge crowd of GM,s retirees creates big load on pension benefit plan also. THis crowd will grow even more, since comapny will get a rid of thousands workers during restucturing process. This deal is a total victory of Communist party of Assembly Workers and their general secretaty Mr. Lawenza. Remeber ,those workers are only the end of production chain process but hey think all priviledges and benefits must be guaranted to themself. This is fundamental propaganda of CAW. All other hardworking people working for automotive suppliers, where technology and quality is build into product ,do not have somtimes even less then half of those wages and benefits.
CAW doesn't simply deserve those benefits. This communist. sucking money from workers ceature was always dragging automotive comapanies down. Now it is fighting for survival. Automotive workers deserve better union model and its structure. All workers incuded in viehicle's manufacturing process should have the same benefits and wages adequate to proportion of their involvment and skills. CAW is outdated already and has destructive influence on manufacturing companies.
